Antoana Oreski

I'm a freelance illustrator from Istra, a beautiful peninsula in Croatia, where I live with my husband and our four kids. When I was a little girl my fave time of the day was listening to my mother's bedtime stories. It was an enchanting and magical experience for me.

My greatest source of inspiration always comes from nature itself in combination with my ever growing imagination, but the anchor for both has always been deeply rooted in my childhood memories. That plays the biggest part of my creative process. Like, how I remember certain scenes or smells while I paint Christmassy things...or certain feelings I remember from camping from when I was a little girl when I make anything summer related. I guess this is the reason my work has been described as evocative.

I also love experimenting & playing with textures, lines & patterns as seen in my work. I like it when I get lost in my own world- it's fun!

Mia Underwood

I'm Mia Underwood - I'm a fine artist, illustrator, designer and published author based in the creative hub of Brighton, UK. My skills and experience of being both a designer and an illustrator mean that I can provide creative solutions that deliver a powerful visual impact.

Whether I am designing a giant prop for an opera, designing a quirky craft beer label or illustrating a magazine cover – I love a creative challenge!

Mia has illustrated two puzzles so far for Elena Essex Designs - the serene Wilderness Safari which depicts a cheetah stalking it's prey (or sedately sitting?) amid colourful jungle plumage. The second, Roar Power, is a striking design of a tiger's head punching through a vibrant border of leaves, flowers and birds - a challenging and rewarding puzzle. Both designs are characterised by bold, bright and beautiful colour palettes.

Emma Jayne

Hi, my name is Emma Jayne. I’m an Illustrator and Pattern Designer, based in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, UK.

My passion is creating magical illustrations, very often of places I would love to visit. I also enjoy drawing animals in nature, inspired by the environment where I live.

I love to incorporate different colour combinations into many of my works. I just love colour!

My first illustration for Elena Essex, the Sicilian Cove, displays a clear blue sky, colourful boats floating on the ocean, in a tranquil setting.

Being a busy full-time illustrator, I take pleasure in painting scenes like this, which I can escape into. At the time I created this design, I had never visited Italy but since then, I have been twice!

Katherine Herrell

Katherine Herrell is an illustrator and designer living in Atlanta, USA with her husband and two young daughters. Her signature approach combines traditional mediums such as gouache, watercolour, and coloured pencils, finessed with a hint of technology.

Her playful designs often feature vibrant colours, flowers, enchanting animals, and uplifting phrases. She's inspired by the wonders of nature, retro florals, and folk-style art. Lee Foster-Wilson

Lee Foster-Wilson is a UK artist and illustrator based in Cornwall. She is often inspired by the rural, coastal landscape she lives in and grew up with a menagerie of animals and riding horses. Lee likes to work with limited colour palettes and traditional analogue materials. Her favourite tool of choice is the marker pen in all its different guises (...and it will probably have her heart forever).

Lee enjoys observing the relationship of people to nature and to each other. This is often defined in phrases, text, and weird & wonderful celestial and mystical symbols. Lee’s work is colourful, illustrative, and a bit whimsical with a gritty edge.

Elena Essex

I'm Elena Essex, an illustrator based in Hove, UK. I love to create designs that make my heart beat a little bit faster and hopefully, yours too.

I’m a fan of colour and wildlife (you may have guessed this!) and as a mother of 4 lively children, I enjoy creating illustrations and patterns that are as beautiful (but maybe not as chaotic!), as my family life.

Growing up, and now as a family, we’ve always loved puzzles, and so in 2020, I decided to make the leap and start my own family-run puzzle business. I’ve been blown away by the love and support of our customers and the puzzling community who have helped make our first two puzzles a success and given me the courage to broaden our range. Every year since we keep on adding to our range, both in conjunction with our band of fabulous artists, and when time permits, illustrating my own designs. I can’t wait to share more beautiful puzzles with you all. Watch this space or follow my Instagram page for more exciting updates. And thank you for your continued support.
